The RSF admin team must also point out that rides designated as members rides are precisely that, rides organised by a member and advertised here in case other members may wish to join them. We also request that all members putting a ride on add their name to the RSF ride leaders list to be covered under our insurance which you can read here. Adding your name is as simple as emailing the secretary and requesting your name be added to our ride leaders list.

A bit short notice I know but my creaks and my bike’s, needed some treatment and recovery.

Meet at the Portland Basin for a 10.30 departure. You may want to get there for 10.00 or even a little earlier to bag a parking space and more importantly a drink from the cafe.

Portland Basin Museum, Heritage Centre, Portland Place, A-U-L, OL7 OQA.

The Portland Basin can be hidden away for some, so please check your route and the map details.

My plan is to follow the canal towpath into Manchester, get across the city carefully and then lunch at Media City or in its environs. And then return passing by some Football ground and also quite close to a Cricket ground. And then back up the Fallowfield Loop (Floop) to Gorton back across to the canal in Audenshaw and back to the basin.
My route is approx 24 miles and 530 ft of ascent but things can vary.

My standard instructions, you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others that your actions might affect. Please be on a serviceable bike and have some knowledge of how to repair it, although others will help if required.
