On a heatwave forecast day (for the UK) only David braved coming out on my Wednesday RSF ride around Meltham.
Starting at the Ivy Cafe we set off to ride to Cop Hill and our lunch stop after 8 miles at the Rose & Crown above Slaiithwaite.
The highlight of the ride for me was re-visiting a remnant of the ancient pack horse route from Halifax to Oldham. (From Cop Hill to Tyas
lane near the pub).
As David had already ridden 8 miles to the start of the ride in Meltham we agreed after lunch to finish our ride in Marsden, giving David a shorter ride home and
myself a longer one. My ride was 20 miles, which was just about the right length, on a very hot enjoyable outing.
