The new year's eve day ride was a rare sunny and mild day for December. Geoff even turned up in shorts!
The ride had more ebikes than i've ever seen in my life - with almost half the group enjoying some hill assist. The first climb from Nelson to Noggarth was a mix of road and track, and Jim had a try on an ebike and was up at the top in no time. Then a sharp short descent and we enjoyed tea & snacks at Clarion House. From here the bridleway by the river and then the track past Black Moss Reservoirs. We turned right at the top to enjoy the undulations of the road through Briercliffe (the other one) towards Blacko. The Cross Gaits wasnt doing food, but Eric had already bought a pint so a few of us had some swift beer before heading back to the Heritage Centre for a late lunch.
A good ride to see out 2017 and to meet some new faces I hope to see more of in 2018.
