Moderate ride with an easy start, apart form the loose steep descent of the 'Owls nest' to the first part, leads to a brute of a climb to High Arnside from Skelwith Bridge, steep with rock steps, it's a serious challenge! After this it's back to pleasant riding with a nice drop towards Hawkshead. You pass (or not) a cafe at Knipe Fold before using fire road into grisedale befeore reaching a real ripper of a descent behind Brantwood, the once home of John Ruskin, before an easy road back to te start in Coniston |
