Reeth, Fremington Edge and the Moresdale Road
(0 votes)

A splendid route crossing the moors to the north of Reeth beginning with the climb of Fremington Edge, if you get up this without pushing then you are tough indeed! The reward is some fabulous and scenic moorland cruising. It is recommended to stop at the pub in Langthwaite. They do tea, coffee, sandwiches, pies, and pasties but don't expect a fancy side salad, a tomato sliced in half is what you get however it makes a refreshing change and is not expensive. There are several ways back but this route climbs the road to reach a bridleway just before 'surrender bridge' where after a short pull over the shoulder of the hill it's downhill all the way.
