RSF - The Off Road Cycling Club

When in Switzerland, and south-east of Lauterbrunnen, there are a number of attractive mtb routes in & near the Jungfrau Complex. An intermediate 12 kilometers downhill trail (1,106 meters descent) can be an enjoyable start of your rides around here. The route starts near the station/hotel at Kleine Scheidegg. From here follow the red bicycle signs, you start following deep gravel roads through the ski area and the mountainscape is one of the most impressive ones you'll ever meet, the north wall of the Eiger included (see picture). After a couple of miles the road surface improves considerably and you will fly down at high speed. Be careful because this route is also used by local service vehicles and walkers. From the wooded area onward you will enjoy the views of Grindelwald, after having passed Grund, a farming community, you fly down into the lower parts of Grindelwald. After this warming up ride you can do a couple of harder trails in the vicinity.
