RSF - The Off Road Cycling Club

A 23 km loop, that skirts around the eastern side of Titterstone Clee Hill. The start and finish is in Cleehill at the viewing point (SO 595 753). It's at the eastern end of the village, close to the cattle grid, and has ample parking. Heading through the gate, close by, you'll be taken downhill and then it's a bit of a climb back up to the A4117. Cross this road and more climbing. A descent down Magpie Hill - a boggy one; the nearby track was probably the more sensible option. On to Catherton Common. Pause here to appreciate the wildlfe (twitchers won't be disappointed).Then it's a bit of empty country lane before hitting the Jack Mytton Way. A gentle climb followed by a steep but short drop down Silvington Common. A rapid descent on tarmac to Silvington; then up and onto to a bridleway. The start of the serious climbing approaches. Up from Cleeton Court; some flat on marshy ground on the north-east side of Titterstone Clee Hill. At Cleeton St Mary (nice church) the proper off-road climbing begins: fine at the start, less so in the middle, fine at the end. You're pretty close to the golf-ball radar station at the top of Titterstone Clee Hill. You could cycle up to it on the road but this route veers off down a gravelly track and then a sealed road. There's a gall on this branch of the gpx track. The map said bridleway. Mother nature said otherwise. Lacking machete, I back tracked and picked up a another bridleway. Some up, some flat, then down to the start. It's Shropshire, so many a view.
