The Isle of Wight Chalk Ridge Extreme is a relatively unpublicised 86km route on the Isle of Wight. Comprised on mainly bridleway and single track, linked together by old disused railway lines, cycle tracks and some minor roads. The route isn't too challenging, although it can be very muddy in places during the winter months. You can visit the Island for the day from Southsea in Hampshire via Hovercraft. The journey take aprox 10 minutes, two bike per hovercraft can be taken and the return far is less than 20 pounds (Jan 2015). |
