RSF - The Off Road Cycling Club

Cragganmore, Glen Livet and Glen Fiddich are 3 fine malt whiskies and a good description of this circular 45 mile route, offering 2 contrasting off-road sections totalling about 28 miles.  It starts at Cragganmore (car parking available) and takes in byways up Glen Livet to the Allanreid car park near Tomnavoulin.  From there tracks that are sometimes stony, wet, rough, steep or smooth follow the River Livet before heading up Glen Suie, reaching 1730' before descending to Glen Fiddich lodge and on to join the public road at Bridgehaugh.  After a few miles of road the old railway line is joined at Dufftown station.  It is a flat 15+ miles back along the railway on surfaces that have been greatly improved though are sometimes stony.  The section alongside the Spey at Aberlour is especially scenic.  After passing several distilleries the route crosses Cragganmore viaduct to return to the starting point.
