A mainly off-road route of 29 miles starting and finishing at Nethy Bridge. Climbing through the Abernethy Forest on mainly good, sometimes rough, and occasionally steep tracks. At the top is the bothy that gives the Ryvoan pass its name. On a good day there is a great view towards the higher Cairngorm Mountains. The descent is rough and tricky at first but improves greatly on the smooth and fast descent to Glen More. From there the so-called Old Logging Way is a great alternative to the busy road to Aviemore. Then pick up the Speyside Way to Boat of Garten and on for some single track fun around lochs Mallachie and Garten before returning to Nethy Bridge. |
