RSF - The Off Road Cycling Club

A challenging route in it's own way, mostly because of the effort required to attain the bealach before the final descent, but trust me it's worth it!

Excellent parking at the start courtesy of the Ardverikie estate leads straight onto fire roads and a deer gate on the left, go through this. At the top of the short steep section turn right back on yourself to climb to Lochan Na-hearba and follow the track around the far shore. You will notice a steep track descending from the hills on the right, you will be returning this way.

The route stays close to the 1200' contour all the way to Loch Pattack, after crossing the bridge in the photo follow the shoreline until the route climbs away towards the hills. As this descends to the river choose your spot near the obvious path on the other side and carry your bike carefully across. 

Now starts the test of your resolve as you push, ride and carry your bike  up some 900' to the bealach which you can see in the (far) distance, some 2 miles. Once you attain the bealach you will get your reward and be back on your bike for a descent which goes on seemingly forever.

The Stronlossit Hotel in Roybridge will supply much needed food and refreshment should you need it..............
