RSF - The Off Road Cycling Club

A 30+ mainly flat off road ride starting at Sale Water Park which takes you up the Bridgewater Canal to Worley and on to Astley Green before heading south over the Mosses to Irlam.  A good lunch stop is at Irlam Station Cafe.  After lunch back up onto the Mosses to avoid main roads and then over the Manchester Ship Canal on the Toll Bridge (bikes go free) at Warburton and along a bit of the Bollin Way on the south bank of the canal into Partington.  From there you can pick your way around the disused gas works and onto Carrington Moss, passing Manchester United's training centre - all very secretive - and finally pick up the Trans Pennine Trail back to Sale Water Park.

Good news of April 2018 - the cafe at what used to be the visitor centre is now open again!
