Very picturesque 25 mile loop taking in Buttermere, Crummock Water, Loweswater and the tracks and lanes around Mosser & Whin Fells. Some really nice stretches of easy going bridleway, quiet lanes when out of season. Cafe & pub in Buttermere and a pub at Kirkhead (home of Loweswater Brewery). Easy to cut the loop of the fells off to make a 17 mile ride that has little climbing other than a couple of short stiff ups. To do this just turn left on the road at Brackenthwaite instead of right and follow the road all the way to the far end of Loweswater. |
